Mitta Mountain Rally

The plan after Bathurst was to fix the clutch. We didn't fix the clutch. So the very next weekend we rocked up to the Mitta Mountain Rally with the exact same one — and this time it was a blind rally, which I did not remotely understand until it was too late.
About the Mitta Mountain Rally
The Mitta Mountain Rally is a one-day gravel rally based in Mitta Mitta, north-eastern Victoria, first run in 2016 and held annually since apart from a 2020 COVID cancellation. Its six special stages — around 160 competitive kilometres — are run "blind" without pace notes on fast, narrow forest roads through alpine ash and snow gums. In 2026 the event served as the opening round (Round 1) of the Victorian Rally Championship (VRC), the Victorian Club Rally Series (VCRS) and the East Coast Classic Rally Series.

- Terrain: Gravel / unsealed roads. Stages run through alpine ash forest and snow gums along ridgelines such as the Razorback Spur — fast, narrow, cresty forest roads. Terrain is mountainous/alpine forest
- History: First run in 2016; held annually since except for a late COVID cancellation in 2020. 2026 (Saturday 21 March) is the tenth running of the event
- Notable: Small-town community rally: local volunteers feed competitors and the trophy presentation is held Saturday evening at the Mitta Mitta Pub. From 2025 the event added enduro motorcycle entries, which follow the cars on the closed-road stages
